Upcoming Member Photoshoot: August 7th
Click! Members – as promised at last week’s member meeting, an opportunity for a photoshoot! What: Loveland Feed and Grain – an historic building in Loveland which was slated for demolition and redevelopment, located at 130 West 3rd St When: Saturday, August 7, 2010 Time: 7 am - ? Cost: Contribution of images for Loveland Feed and Grain plus a cash contribution as you are able for the renovation of the site as an artists’ community
Carpool will meet at Working With Artists at 5:45 am. This is an early shoot due to the way the buildings are situated. We will meet our guide at 7 am, take a brief tour of the area, and then it’s cameras up and tripods out for interesting images. From Christopher, who will be our guide for the morning:
I would recommend a morning shoot, but I am open to whatever time works for you guys. The building runs length-wise north and south, with one warehouse on the east side and one on the west. The warehouse on the west side is being rented and we will not have access to it. However, the warehouse on the east gets great light in the morning, has some really cool doors that open onto the railroad tracks, and a lot of old wood. It's pretty cool.
If the group is interested, it would be fun to gather after the shoot for food and beverage and to compare experiences and preliminary images. Face it – we photographers LOVE looking at the backs of our digital cameras!

; let me know if you want to carpool or meet the group at the Loveland Grain and Feed.
There is an additional opportunity while we are in Loveland. If you’ve never visited the Benson Sculpture Garden, it is indeed lovely. I’ve been several times and the bronze work is amazing. August 7-8 is the annual Loveland Sculpture in the Park. If you are interested in sculpture, it’s worth staying and checking out. It will be a very busy day in Loveland!
Looking forward to an interesting shoot – thanks to John Walthier for finding this great location!
