Celene Bridgford has been making images for over a decade. Her B.A. from the University of New Mexico in Fine Art Photography and Anthropology, combined with her commercial photography degree from the Art Institute of Colorado, Denver, have inspired her travels and a desire to understand her experiences through imagery. She has worked as a national consultant to the digital imaging industry, with clients including Kohler, Patagonia, Dillard's and Kohl's. Celene currently teaches photography at the Art Institute of Colorado and serves on the advisory panel for Flash, the Working with Artists gallery space.

Beyond Paper:
Digital Printing on Fabric

TIMES | LOCATION: 10am - 4pm Sa/Su, WWA Classroom C
WHAT TO BRING: You will receive an email of materials you will need to bring and a call from the instructor with specifics

Your goal in this workshop will be to produce high quality prints of your photographs on several kinds of fabric, from silk-like materials to canvas. You will be printing on a top notch fine art printer and also on consumer printers such as one you may own. Start with a discussion of alternative materials and how the printers work, including the use of Ink Aid to make non-coated papers inkjet ready. Delve into the fine points of image prep and color management for this process, then print several of your own for final critique on Sunday. The workshop concludes with a discussion of finishing and display options. *You may bring fabrics that are pre-approved by the instructor for this workshop

Concepts covered in this class include;
how to choose the right fabric for your imagery, image preperation in Adobe Photoshop, inkjet print settings and technology differences, overview of color management workflow for unconventional materials, how to finish and preserve artwork, and much much more!

The Art and Science of Color

WHAT TO BRING: Your camera and note taking materials

Work with esteemed photographer and color expert Celene Bridgford and learn about the expressiveness of color. Get ready to delve into the new color technologies at play in the ever changing field of digital imaging. In this class you will study color balance and temperature, filtration, RGB and CMYK profiles, printer setups, color spaces, Photoshop color settings, and more! This hands on class includes studio time, homework assignments, and computer lab work.

Illuminating Adobe Lightroom

TIMES | LOCATION: 10am-4pm, Saturday, WWA Classroom C
WHAT TO BRING: A disk of images and note taking materials, + a laptop with Lightroom if you have one

Designed by and for digital photographers, Lightroom provides a powerful set of tools for managing and processing large volumes of digital images. Lightroom can be used as a standalone program (with or without other Photoshop programs) or can be integrated with Photoshop to form a complete, professional workflow. This class will give you a full working knowledge of Lightroom and will teach you how to integrate Lightroom into your digital photo workflow. You will learn fundamental techniques for processing photos in and out of Lightroom, using metadata to manage your image library, and presenting your work in a variety of ways.

Visual Story Telling with IPhoto

TIMES | LOCATION: 10am-4pm, Saturday & Sunday, WWA Classroom C
WHAT TO BRING: A disk (or thumb drive) of images, note taking materials, and your laptop loaded with IPhoto

Do you have hundreds of images that you would like to organize and share but
aren't sure where to start?Do you have file folders of travel imagery that you
want to present in a slideshow or present to a gallery? Then this is the class for you.

In this 2 day workshop you will learn how to tell a compelling visual story with your
images using Iphoto. You will learn how to effectively edit, organize and present imagery
using slideshows, web galleries and photo books. Come join in the fun!
