GARY OAKLEY, FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHER
Gary Oakley founded Oakley Photography in 1996 in Boulder, Colorado, USA and now travels the world shooting documentary and wedding photography that possesses an unparalleled combination of atmosphere, art, and spirit. Gary's natural, unobtrusive style has earned him an international reputation as one of America's finest event photojournalists working today. It is this unique style that allows him to capture key life moments at their most poignant and precious, but always with an eye toward the artistic edge. A deep dedication to his craft, a keen sensitivity to his client's needs, and an almost uncanny sense of vision and creativity enable Gary to attain extraordinary images and then create albums, prints, and slideshows that will last lifetimes. Passionate about people, art, the natural world, and challenges, Gary's greatest loves are his wife and two daughters (and of course the family dogs: Poppy and the Mexican street dog: Lupe).
Gary began photographing in Central America in 1987 while living in Guatemala and has traveled extensively throughout Mexico, the culmination of which was a year in San Miguel photographing street dogs for an upcoming book, The Dogs of San Miguel. Known internationally for his wedding work, Gary travels worldwide on assignment. His images have appeared in numerous books and magazines, notably: The New York Times, In Style, Conde Naste, The Knot, Vogue, Bride, and Confetti Magazine. Books Credits include: The Knot's Complete Guide to Weddings In The Real World, and Destination Weddings. For more information about Gary, please click here.
