Peter Read Miller’s WWA workshop in Denver 2006 will be an exciting all-digital program with top of the line cameras and lenses provided by Canon USA and sponsored by LowePro, Kingston Memory, Monster Cable/Photo, iView Media Pro, and Roberts!

Join WWA, Peter Read Miller, Max Morse and Grant Leighton for 4 intense days of photographing Colorado’s top university, high school and pro sporting events. Meet on Wednesday night for orientation so you can gear up on Thursday morning with equipment demos and checkout. Head for the foothills of the Rocky Mountains to photograph professional mountain bikers riding come rain, snow or shine. Every year these hard-core athletes lead our photographers up Dakota Ridge to capture intense moments as the bikers hurtle down a steep rocky trail. A regional track and field event at a local University will push your photographic skills with lots of action and changing light. High-school basketball in a classic downtown gymnasium always offers a great location for strobe work – complicated action shots and difficult angles, followed by posed portraits of the young athletes. Shoot arena pro league football - the Colorado Crush at Denver’s world class Pepsi Center. Other events may include Colorado Rapids soccer and optional local action sports from Lacrosse to Motocross. Each photographer will have the opportunity to work closely with Peter Read Miller and take home hundreds of images shot with top of the line equipment. Portfolio reviews will take place by appointment, please let us know your preference at the time of registration.

LODGING: We'll arrange for a discount at the Sheraton Denver West on Union Street, very close to our new location. We'll post the group rate shortly. They also have a shuttle available to our studio plus a car rental in the lobby. Airport transportation best bet is the SuperShuttle. We'll arrange for carpooling so not everyone will need to rent. Please make your reservations directly with the hotel and mention our name, Working with Artists and the workshop dates. Other lodging options are available, but this is a pretty good deal at a first class hotel looking out on Denver or the Rocky Mountains.

PORTFOLIO REVIEWS
If you have a portfolio you would like Peter to review, please bring it. On CD or laptop is fine. Portfolio reviews will be scheduled between shoots throughout the workshop on a first come, first serve basis.

WHAT TO BRING
Camera gear (digital), laptop, plenty of memory cards. A laptop is not required but is recommended. Limited computer power is available and a laptop gives you more versatility for editing prior to reviews. Our digital assistants will write CDs from your memory cards and return them to you between shoots.
